It’s been a long time since I did not visit Lawang Sewu when attending college. At that time, Lawang Sewu is still a building where the walls look less manicured, thick dusty and dirty. At that time, no wonder Lawang Sewu is synonymous with a sense of horror. Firstly, it was once used as a location for filming a reality show mystery of a national private television stations, also was used for the idea of horror movie story of the same name. That’s why the image of Lawang Sewu is very close to the impression of horror, ghosts, and so forth.
Yellow light is radiated to the walls of Lawang Sewu with the right consistency, so that every corner of the building is no longer too dark, except for the roof of the building
But yesterday, when I visited this place right before dusk, I was struck by the view at night the Lawang Sewu, primarily on letter L-shaped building, this building becomes like a luxury building with lighting to show the impression of luxury in the former office Railways Dutch.
Yellow light is radiated to the walls of Lawang Sewu with the right consistency, so that every corner of the building is no longer too dark, except for the roof of the building. The art deco piece made from colored glass in the corners L-shaped building is also included on the direction of the light source in the building, so that the clear glass painting seems clear from the outside of the building to form a typical access is rare in Buildings other Dutch heritage. In the courtyard of the building, it also has dipaving block, and directly adjacent to the Japanese verdant lawns and manicured.
Indeed, the impression of horror does not totally go away, especially tourist enjoying this horror sides now also has its own market. For those want to enjoy the pounding and beating heart, holding your breath for a few seconds, you can go at the basement of the building in the form of the letter I because here is the darkest side of this building, both in terms of lighting and its history. The bottom of the building is a silent witness, sitting in jail, prison stands, and the decapitation of prisoners when the Japanese invaders occupied Indonesian territory during the Dutch colonial period in the bottom of the building design to sanitation and air conditioning.
For those who are interested, Lawang Sewu is open until the evening, located right on one side of the monument young Semarang.
